MARIHUANA
medicine or poison?

In my opinion, the marihuana must be still illegal, because it causes schizophrenia, pulmonary problems, disconnection with reality and you get fat by eating a lot, although it is useful in medicine because in chemotherapy takes sickness off and makes you feel hungry, besides it relieves multiple sclerosis pains.

On the other hand, if it were legal the quality would be under control, and it would be out of black market. In comparison with alcohol and tobacco, marihuana is much healthier. Therefore if government legalize marihuana will get money with taxes.

MAS DE NOGUERA

On October, i went with my friends to the Mas de Noguera. Though I didn’t like the place, nor the meals, I had a good time with my friends.
To arrive to the Mas de Noguera we left the train and get there by walking hardly.
I liked a lot the trip to a cave with the stalactites and stalagmites. We walked very much.
The life in the Mas is healthy and they get electricity from solar panels. They make a bread that I don’t like.
In the bedroom Alex and Manuel were my fellows.
There was a farm with a lot of animals, pigs, horses, cows and bulls, chickens…
The last night we have a bored party. And finally we went home.

WILL

use: planned action in the future

ex:
she will have finished by then
I won't I will not let it happen
will you have some cake?

WILL

Will", like all modal verbs in English, do not change their form, and they are followed by the simple form of the main verb. The only odd thing about "will" and "shall" is that "shall" is not usually used in statements. It only appears in the first person (with I and we) in questions. "Will" is not usually used in first person questions.

ex:

she will arrive she'll arrive tomorrow
she will have finished by then
I won't go. Oh yes you will!
will you have some cake?

TRAVEL

Twice in the academic year we have a trip, in this case we went to the north of Spain, Catalonia, Roncesvalles - Zubiri, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Jaca… We visited the “monastery of stone” and its museum about chocolate, wine… The camping was good although most of the time we were on the bus and it was raining, that’s why we did not take a lot of trips. In total we spent the night in two hostels. The second was the best. in my opinion the worst trip was when we had to walk 20 km with backpacks and under full sun, was on the “camino de Santiago”. For me the best day of camping was that of rafting, in groups, much funny although too short, we all would like to continue to the rapidscontinue to the rapids.

NATIONAL DARK SKY WEEK

National Dark-Sky Week (NDSW) is an event, usually occurring in April, during which people in the United States are encouraged to turn out their unnecessary outdoor lights in order to temporarily reduce light pollution. Light pollution is a hazy blanket of light in the atmosphere caused by improper lighting fixtures which direct light up into the sky instead of down toward the ground. Not only does light pollution waste energy, but it also creates great problems for stargazers. This “blanket of light” causes the beauty of the night sky to fade, and if the problem of light pollution is not addressed now, we are destined to lose the beauty of the sky

Burma is the biggest country area in mainland Southeast Asia.

The name “Myanmar” is derived from the local short-form name Myanma Naingngandaw.

The School Cafeteria, on a Diet

As students return to school this week, some are finding unusual entries on the list of class rules: fewer fried foods, smaller servings and no cupcakes.

School districts across the country have been taking steps to make food in schools healthier because of new federal guidelines and awareness that a growing number of children are overweight.

In California, deep fryers have been banned, so chicken nuggets and fries are now baked. Sweet tea is off the menu in one Alabama school. In New Jersey, 20-ounce sports drinks have been cut back to 12 ounces.

Food and beverage companies have scrambled to offer healthier alternatives in school cafeterias and vending machines, and some of the changes have been met with a shrug by students.

Another reason is a federal requirement that every school district develop a wellness plan to help students eat healthier foods. Some states and school districts have simply adopted the federal standards for food sales outside the school nutrition program, which critics deride as lax and antiquated.

TO
WATER
SAVING

March 22 is the World water save, how will you celebrate?

In many countries around the world, an abundant and potable water supply such as our own is pure fantasy.

In Haiti, countless women and children wake hours before sunrise in order to walk miles to the nearest community well or mountain spring.

These sources, however, are often polluted by fecal matter from farm animals or poorly constructed latrines.

A 2004 report by the United Nations Development Program estimated 20% of Haiti’s children, under the age of five, die every year from diarrea alone.

While Peace Corps Volunteer, I spoke to numerous farmers in Savannlong and Savannlet and more, whose wells had dried up as desertification overtook the water table. In other parts of the country, I heard from farmers whose wells began to pump salt water as the water table receded and the ocean advanced. In 1992, the UN General Assembly designated March 22 as World Water Day to draw attention to this growing, global problem.

In Haiti there are numerous organizations that are working to stave desertification, to preserve water tables, and to offer clean and safe drinking waters to entire cities.

I strongly encourage you to visit the website of Living Water, a highly motivated and praiseworthy organization out of Houston, TX and the World Water Day homepage to learn more about how you can help the people of the world overcome this most basic problem

Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール, Doragon Bōru) is a Japanese manga created by Akira Toriyama in 1984. It involves a young martial artist named Son Goku as he searches for the Dragon Balls, and becomes stronger along the way.
Dragon Ball was originally serialized in the weekly anthology magazine Weekly
Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1995, and originally collected into 42 individual books called tankōbon. In 2004, the manga was re-released in a 34 volume collection called Kanzenban, which included a slightly rewritten ending, new covers, and color artwork from its Weekly Shōnen Jump run.

In the U.S., Viz has released all 42 volumes (nearly matching the first Japanese set) in English language.

Viz titles the second part of the manga Dragon Ball Z to reduce confusion for North American audiences. The series is published in the United Kingdom by Gollancz Manga.

LIGHT YAGAMI

L

Light Yagami is a brilliant, but bored, high school student who resents the crime and corruption in the world.

His life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground in the year 2003. The Death Note's instructions claim that if a human's name is written within it that person shall die.

Light is initially skeptical of the Death Note's authenticity, believing it is just a prank.

However, after experimenting with it and killing two criminals, Light is forced to admit that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a Shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the new world" by passing his judgment on criminals.

Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "Killer"), is located in Japan.
L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a race to prove mental superiority between the two begins.

shinigami : Ryuk

How to Use

These are the written rules, of which the first II Ryuk wrote in the Death Note itself.

how to use I

· The Human whose name is written in this note shall die.
· This Note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
· If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.
· If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack.
· After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

How to Use: II

· This note shall become the property of the human world, once it touches the ground of (arrives in) the human world.
· The owner of the note can recognize the image and voice of the original owner, i.e a god of death.
· The human who uses this note can neither go to Heavon nor Hell.

How to Use: III

· If the time of death is written within 40 seconds after writing the cause of death as a heart attack, the time of death can be manipulated, and the time can go into effect within 40 seconds after writing the name.
· The human who touches the DEATH NOTE can recognize the image and voice of its original owner, a god of death, even if the human is not the owner of the note.

Mallrats tells the story of two friends who are dumped by their girlfriends on the same day.

They seek solace at the local mall where they hang out all day doing nothing but talk about their girlfriends and comic books.
They get into a series of situations that eventually leads to the two enlisting the help of slackers Jay and Silent Bob to get their girlfriends back.
This is the second film in the "New Jersey" series by Kevin Smith.
This entry is miles better than its predecessor Clerks.
I loved how Kevin Smith did this movie. Kevin Smith is a comic book geek, so I'm glad he made a movie to portray that taste.

Comic book lovers will truly enjoy all the references and parodies within the film.

I know I did. That's what made the movie even more enjoyable to me.
The appearance of Stan Lee was perfect for me.
Aside from that, this movie is just paced and styled better than Clerks was. This was non stop laughs whereas Clerks was more of a satirical black comedy.
Also, a lot happened throughout the film even though it only takes place within a day and within the same mall, rather than Clerks which was slow moving and downright boring in some parts.
I enjoyed the acting in this movie.
Jason Lee is hilarious as comic book fanatic Brodie Bruce.
Jay and Silent Bob have a lot more to do in this film than in Clerks, and they make some of the funniest scenes in the movie.
Overall, Kevin Smith had his practice with Clerks, so he had the resources to make a better film, and he certainly did.
If you liked Clerks, or even if you didn't, you'll love Mallrats.

SAHARA

Population: 500.000 inhabitants approximately
The Capital: Al Aiun
Lenguages: Arab(Arabic
Religions: Islam
Index of Literacy: 82 %

Desert of the Sahara is the biggest desert in the world, with approximately an area of 9.065.000 km . It is in the north of Africa.

Its name derives from the Arabic: sahara صحراء translation of the word tuareg from (desert) Tenere.

Only there is vegetation a few meters near the course of the small rivers. There are many palms of dates.
All the oases (approximately 5 millions) are canalized, to guarantee the water in all the sowing zones. Often, the water does not come from rivers, but from underground running, extracted up with wells.

The Sahara desert has one of the harshest climates in the world. It has many strong winds that blow from the north-east. Sometimes on the border zones of the north and south, the desert will receive about 25 cm. of rain a year. The rainfall happens very rarely, but when it does it is usually torrential when it occurs after long dry periods, which can last for years. Daytime temperatures can be 58 °C, but freezing temperatures aren't uncommon at night, reaching as low as −6 °C

Bullyng, or school harassment is the physical or psychological mistreatment to someone.
The school harassment divides in two categories:
1. Direct harassment: it is the most common form among the children. they argue and attack.

2. Indirect harassment: it is the most common among the girls and, generally at the preadolescence. It uses to be: insults, social rejection, nickname.

Discrimination for: disabilities, race

What is necessary to do in these cases?

If we are faced with a case of harassment or "bullying", we must try to convince the victim to resort the help of his parents and teachers.

Who are responsible?

The teachers and the parents have a special responsibility in the care of children and teenagers, and it includes to help to those who are victims of these conducts in the school. Nevertheless, the adults cannot take in charge these tasks without the help of the children and teenagers themselves.

The situation complicates when the "Bully", or the person who exerts the abuse, threatens the victim to keep quiet and prevents from asking for help or it will suffer worse consequences.

THE FALLAS

In the middle of the 18th century, the fallas were just one part of the events held to celebrate St Joseph's Day (19 March). During the morning of 18 March, rag dolls called peleles were strung across city streets from window to window, or small platforms were set up against walls displaying one or two figures (ninots) that referred to an event or to certain individuals that were particularly deserving of public derision. Throughout the day, children and young people collected objects to be burnt on bonfires called fallas. All were burnt the evening before St. Joseph's Day in the midst of much celebration. The next day, devout Valencians and carpenters attended their local churches in honour of their patron saint. Families also celebrated the saint's day for anyone called José (also known as Pepe) with cakes, fritters (bunyols) and The word Falla comes from the Latin word Fácula (Torch). This word was used for the torches that illuminated the tents and those to illuminate a celebration. But later references talk about anisette. It was a time of widespread, neighbourly festivities bonfires and lights that ignited on the eve of extraordinary and supervisory celebrations. On the eve of San Jose ignited bonfires to announce its festivity, receiving that ritual practice the name of Fallas.

SANT VALENTINE

The Day of Sant Valentine is a traditional celebration in which the fiancés, enamoured, husbands or wives express their love or affection. It is celebrated on 14 of February.
In many countries they call it Day of the Enamoured. Particularly in Colombia, by commercial reasons, this day is celebrated the third weekend of September and it’s known as Day of the Love and the Friendship.
Sant Valentine talks about a number of
holy martyrs who lived in old Rome. The celebration of sant Valentine was celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church each 14 of February since 1969. The celebration of San Valentine was celebrated for the first time around year 498 by Pope Gelasio I. The creation of this celebration can have been to eliminate the celebration of the Lupercales, a pagan celebration that was celebrated the 15 of February. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, sant Valentine was probably one of the three martyrs who lived at the end of century III.
The celebration was introduced in Spain in the middle of century XX, with
the sole aim to increase the purchase of gifts.

Love’s poem

I love them both, can't have them both. It's tearing me apart! My former joy and present boy:Both have got my heart.

I have to choose, so I must loseSomeone I really love.It feels like dirt that I must hurtA guy that I dream of.

Why this must be I cannot see;I only know I must. Each might endure, for I am sureThat this is love, not lust.

I weep and wail to no avail;I can't say no to either. But if I can't tell what I want,Could that mean I want neither?

Second Life (SL) is a virtual 3D world created by Linden Lab and founded by Philip Rosedale. Second Life is one of several virtual worlds inspired by the novel of Science fiction “Snow Crash”, of Neal Stephenson and the literary movement “Cyberpunk”. It would be a world created by his users in whom people could interact, to play, to make businesses and, really, to communicate. This program gives to his users the possibility of participating in his virtual economy.
The 16 of December of 2006 a new version in Spanish was sent.
The 6 of February of 2007, Second Life had more than 3.300.000 residents.
The problem is that there is much people who confuse the real life with SL.

DEFORESTATION

Deforestation is the conversion of forested areas to non-forest land use such as arable land, urban use, logged area or wasteland. Historically, this meant conversion to grassland or to its artificial counterpart, grainfields; however, the Industrial Revolution added urbanization. Generally this removal or destruction of significant areas of forest cover has resulted in a degraded environment with reduced biodiversity. In developing countries, massive deforestation is ongoing and is shaping climate and geography.
The annual rate of deforestation in the Amazon region has continued to increase from 1990 to 2003 because of factors at local, national, and international levels
